When Love Bloomed
Should I forget her,
Or pretend I have?
Without her warmth,
Can I simply laugh?
As the moon lights the sky,
On a rare blue night,
You search for shadows,
While I think of your light.
Why, my white lotus,
Did you root in the stream?
Sweet cuckoo, are you tired?
Where’s your song, your dream?
Should a bee forget the flower?
Should a bird forget its nest?
What do I say to the lovebirds,
Who flew together, then left?
We soared through the sky,
Held close as love bloomed,
But when it was bright,
You left me in gloom.
I wait for you still,
As dawn paints the day,
A little sad, a little anxious,
With a smile that fades away.
Oh green leaf, count the dew,
Oh fragile being, dry my tears,
Oh nature, may you bloom,
And heal my quiet fears.
When love bloomed,
Why did you leave me in the dark?
